American Landscapes

maritime art

"Often these paintings begin as watercolor sketches done on my travels, and then are rendered in oil in my studio. I am inspired by the light and atmosphere of the mountains, canyons, shore lines and sweeping vistas, that can be found across the country. From the picturesque and the sublime images of a pastoral farm, to the monumental drama a wilderness mountain range, there is nothing quite like the variety of emotions the American Landscape can present.

The diverse locations and their unique light also demand an ever-changing palette to capture their mood. Enjoy this ride around the United States to some of my favorite places."
